For over 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of shaping transformation journeys at the heart of some of the world’s most respected organizations. From BMC Software to Western Union, Morgan Stanley to GE Money to Sapience Analytics, SaaS startups, I’ve seen transformation up close, in all its complexity.
But here’s what makes my journey uniquely special, every transformation I’ve led was architected and delivered from India.
Through Global Capability Centers (GCCs), we’ve not only supported global business, we’ve helped lead it. And we’ve done it in lockstep with visionary global leaders who recognized India’s strategic value.
What transformation looked like >_ in action, sharing just few …
One of the Top 3 ITSM Product Co’s:
- Evolved India from a traditional R&D Hub into a Customer-Centric Center and built an award-winning Customer Experience Center, influencing $32.5M in global revenue
- Rolled out global programs like NOC-in-a-Box, VOICE #freelylistening, and a 5-phase GCC Maturity Framework
At a Top 3 Wealth Management Co:
- Partnered with New York HQ to lead the India Location Strategy, delivering 40+ programs valued at $26M
- Built robust governance models: BMO, PMO, and talent programs (like TAP) to fully align India delivery with global strategy
At a challenger Workforce Analytics SaaS Series B funded Co:
- Led the Co’s 2.0 transformation — rebuilding culture, operating cadence, and GTM strategy
- Launched the Customer Innovation Lab, and elevated analyst visibility globally
At a Top 3 FinTech that helps people move money:
- Program-managed a second tech site launch in record time (+30% capacity)
- Building a 3-Year GCC Maturity Framework across CTO/CIO teams
- Driving internal comms, strategic transformation programs — from India, with global impact
None of this happens without global trust!
Every successful transformation had one thing in common: Global leaders — CIOs, CTOs, CHROs, Product Heads, who didn’t just sponsor initiatives, but co-owned outcomes with us.
- We had executive sponsorship across New York, Israel, Polandm Portugal, Australia, New Zealand, California, Texas, Colorado …etc.
- We co-developed OKRs, strategy maps, and communication rhythms with HQ teams
- We turned India-based GCCs into strategic partners — not just operational passengers
As @SatyaNadella once said …
“You join here, not to be cool, but to make others cool.”
This spirit of enabling others through global-local collaboration was the cornerstone of our success.
Why this matters now?
Today, the role of India-based GCCs is no longer limited to scale or cost efficiency. They are ready for strategy, influence, and innovation at the enterprise level.
When trusted and empowered by global leadership, India GCCs can:
- Drive top-line revenue
- Improve customer confidence and market expansion
- Embed cultural transformation, not just operational change
- Influence product development, GTM strategies, and customer experience from the inside out
The global conversation around GCCs is shifting. As McKinsey noted in their 2023 GCC report:
“Centers of excellence will become central to enterprise resilience, innovation, and transformation.”
India is poised to lead this next era.
What’s Next
This is just Part 1 of the story. In Part 2, I’ll dive deeper into the operating models, cultural rituals, and execution rhythms that made transformation sustainable — across multiple industries and geographies.
Let’s keep building.
